Protect Your Images
24th May 2009 at 12.35
There is a growing problem on the internet, whereby peoples images are beingstolen by scammers to be used to join other sites where they will use yourimage to scam other people.
To protect your images you should use a photoediting software such as photoshop, and write your username across the image. If you join several websites, havedifferent pictures each with the username you use on the site, for example,if you join Leonas Kids Club and your username is happy123, then on all imagesyou want to submit to Leonas Kids Club, you should write happy123, and youshould also write LeonasKidsClub.com on the image. If you are a member ofanother site, for all images you upload to that site, write your usernamefor that site on those pictures, along with that websites name.
You should also keep a note of all sites you join.
The scammers will not be able to use your pics if you do this, as obviouslythey will not be able to join the same sites as you with the same usernameyou use. They cannot join another site with your picture as your picturehas the website name on it along with your username.
Scam Alerts

Adult community sites are being filled with fake adverts and users of communitysites that want to contact people with the intention of tricking them outof their money, creditcard details and sometimes their lives. This is calledscamming, and eventhough it is mainly done on community sites for adults,it may soon be coming to childrens community sites, as because of warningslike these, most adults know what to look out for and know the warning signsin an email from the scammers. The scammers will need a new target whichmay be children as they are easier to be scammed than adults. They may notask for money, but they may ask you to send them gifts, which they will thensell to make some money.
If someone emails you and their language is poor and the email does not makesense, they may be a scammer as most scam emails come from Africa and theyuse translation software to write their emails, as they cannot speak english. This results in poorly written letters.
If they start asking you to send them gifts, they are probably a scammer.
If this happens, you should not reply to them. Instead you must print outtheir emails including headers and give to the FBI or your local police.
Leonas Kids Club Safety Warning
24th May 2009 at 11.49
Joining an online community site to find new friends may seem an excitingidea, but you must be aware of the dangers of placing your details online.
Most people who use internet community sites are harmless, however, thereare a group of people that visit childrens community sites pretending thatthey themselves are children when they are infact adults, usually men, whopretend to be children so that they can chat with and arrange to meet youngchildren. These people are dangerous, as they try to meet up with childrento kidnap, abuse or even murder them. This is not meant to scare you, thisis meant to protect you.
This site is monitored and we do everything we can to ensure members aregenuine, but this is not always possible, so there are steps you can taketo protect your self online.
1. Never use your real full name on websites
2. Never give out your address or telephone number
3. Never tell people where you go to school or college
4. Never tell people where you hang out or go to play
5. If someone asks you to tell them intimate details about yourself, or sendthem pictures of yourself undressed, do not reply to them. Report them tothe owner of whichever website they contacted you through. If you do haveemails from them, print them out including the header information, as thesecan be passed to the FBI or local police station. But the main thing youmust do is inform your parents, and the main thing you must not do, is replyto the person or give them what they want.
6. Never arrange to meet someone you meet online. If you do believe the personis genuine, take your parenst with you to meet them, and meet in a publicplace. Never arrange to meet at their home or somewhere that there will notbe many people around.
By following these simple rules you can protect yourself and help protectother children from these predators. Be sensible, be safe.
